One Person Can Make A Difference
So, I’ve come to realize that not many people out there actually know much about this wonderful little organization that’s sitting in my sidebar. What exactly is FreeKibble and why are they so awesome you might ask? Oh, you do want to know? Great!
FreeKibble was launched back in 2008 by an 11 year old. An 11 year old thought up this and turned it into what it is today! Isn’t that amazing in and of itself? I think so!
Anyways, back in 2008, this brave young lady, Mimi Ausland, founded a website based off of the desire to help feed and care for the hungry animals at shelters. All because she volunteered at her own local shelter and seeing the need for help there, she wanted to do something to help out not only them, but shelters across the United States.
Her quote and mission statement is “Every dog and cat deserves a decent dinner” and I’m inclined to agree. Through this wonderful little website, Mimi has helped to donate over 7 million meals to rescues and food banks across the nation. That amounts to over 485 tons of dog and cat food. That right there, is amazing.
Mimi has poured her heart and soul into this organization since it’s founding and her efforts can be seen when you browse through the site. Evidence of her huge heart can be seen when you look at the Totals and Maps tabs and when you read through the adorable little kids’ book that she wrote, starring her and her favorite companion. She is one inspiring little girl! Just think of what she might accomplish in the coming months and years!
All you have to do to help out is this: Click on that little icon in my sidebar and it’ll link you through to freekibble.com and from there you can click on the feed dogs or feed cats button (or both!) and answer the daily question! Don’t worry about getting it wrong though! Even if you answer incorrectly, you still donated 10 pieces of kibble to a hungry animal just by trying.
This smart and dedicated little girl embarked on this journey through a desire to follow a dream and make a change. She really is proof that one person can make a huge difference in the lives of not only people, but our furry companions as well! Won’t you join in and help donate food to this great cause?
He is your friend, your partner, your defender, your dog. You are his life, his love, his leader. He will be yours, faithful and true, to the last beat of his heart.
You owe it to him to be worthy of such devotion.
